Our God is a personal God. He is an intimate God. Many times we like to keep Him at arm's length by considering how He hand-crafted the universe, or how He listens to the prayers of every human living on the planet. Though true, these thoughts often keep us from fully and deeply understanding that at the same time, God is hand-crafting OUR lives, and listening intently to OUR prayers.
He knows the number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30). He knew who you would become before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5). He has a specific plan for your life - a plan for a prosperous future (Jeremiah 29:11). He is behind the scenes, moving in your life to bring good out of what was intended for evil (Romans 8:28). And He knows whether you will ultimately trust Him and receive His son, Jesus, as your personal Lord and Savior (Ephesians 1:4-6). His great love for you is unimaginable:
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness (Jeremiah 31:3).But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands (Deuteronomy 5:10).
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you (Isaiah 54:10).
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation (Romans 5:8-9).
This God who knows our every thought and deed and who loves us anyway, is only waiting for us to love Him back. He wants only the best for us, and He is just waiting for us to ask (Matthew 7:11). Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7-9).
Before it's too late, ask, seek and knock.
